Lightweight concrete members requiring design shear reinforcement: the reduction factor νl
Eurocode 2 part 1-1: Design of concrete structures 11.6.2 (1)
The reduction factor for the crushing resistance of the concrete struts is νl.
Recommendation
The recommended value of νl follows from:
| νl = 0,5 (1 - flck / 250) | (11.6.6N) |
where flck is the characteristic compressive strength of lightweight concrete, see Table 11.3.1.
For lightweight concrete νl should not be modified in accordance with Note 2 of § 6.2.3 (3).
