Maximum stressing force during tensioning: the values of k1 and k2
Eurocode 2 part 1-1: Design of concrete structures 5.10.2.1 (1)P
The force applied to a tendon, Pmax (i.e. the force at the active end during tensioning) shall not exceed the following value:
Pmax = Ap⋅σp,max | (5.41) |
where:
- Ap
- is the cross-sectional area of the tendon
- σp,max
- is the maximum stress applied to the tendon, = min {k1⋅fpk; k2⋅fp0,1k}.
Recommendation
In this calculation of maximum stressing force, the recommended values for k1 is 0,8 and for k2 is 0,9.
