Additional rules for large diameter bars: the limiting bar size Φlarge
Eurocode 2 part 1-1: Design of concrete structures 8.8 (1)
Additional rules (§ 8.8) are applied when detailing the anchorage of longitudinal reinforcement (§ 8.4), the laps and the mechanical couplers (§ 8.7) if the bar diameter is larger than Φlarge.
Recommendation
The recommended value for the limiting bar size is 32 mm.
