Recommendation
The recommended value for the minimum area of vertical reinforcement As,vmin is 0,002Ac.
The recommended value for the maximum area of vertical reinforcement As,vmax is 0,04Ac outside lap locations unless it can be shown that the concrete integrity is not affected and that the full strength is achieved at ULS. This limit may be doubled at laps.
