Deep beams (the span is less than 3 times the overall section depth) should normally be provided with an orthogonal reinforcement mesh near each face, with a minimum area of distribution reinforcement As,dbmin.
Recommendation
The recommended value for the minimum area of reinforcement As,dbmin is 0,001Ac but not less than 150 mm2/mm in each face and each direction.
