Members requiring design shear reinforcement: the angle θ in a truss model
Eurocode 2 part 1-1: Design of concrete structures 6.2.3 (2)
The design of members with shear reinforcement is based on a truss model, see § 6.2.3 (1). The angle θ between the concrete compression strut and the beam axis perpendicular to the shear force should be limited.
Recommendation
The recommended limits for cotθ in the struss model are given in Expression (6.7N).
